Digitalk n. how to sound like an idiot.

Yes, that’s right, here’s the definition of ‘netspeak’ (which means the same thing) in Urban Dictionary.

But seriously, digitalk is sneaking into our everyday speech and formal language. Whether its acronyms, abbreviations, bad grammar or punctuation, we use digitalk so much now that it is easy to slip it in formal contexts too. It’s a legit problem. (you see?)

This is where we come in. Cork the Digitalk is a campaign that aims to educate people about digitalk and its effects on literacy. We think that we should #corkthedigitalk. Join us if you think so too.
